Forming Community: Our Artist Collective
We are currently inviting artists to join our project for part of its first phase of building an artist’s collective. Our current featured works and artist profiles can be viewed from our Pod Collective page. We are looking for creators who make art about Cape Cod, marine life, and spirituality to cultivate a community of diverse art styles, mediums, and personal voices. Our goal for the Artist Collective is to build awareness of local artists and those who share our vision to create a community who support one another on a shared platform. A later part of this project will enable us to act similarly to an agency by hosting events for our Artist Collective such as gallery showcases or fundraisers. The hope is to reintroduce the allure of nature as something to honor and protect through various art forms, and to uplift undiscovered artists by providing them with a network and community. Apply to the Pod Artist Collective to become involved with our artist community, and subscribe to our newsletter Pod Mail and our social media platforms to stay involved!

Providing Resources: Our Pod Blog community
One of the main reasons we are combining spirituality into our project is because of how disconnected we all feel from our hearts and our bodies. We are living in an age where technology exposes us to so much pain and violence everyday. In fact, up to 75% of the world’s population experiences disassociation at least once in their life. We want to do our part in providing resources, filtering in supportive content to our daily consumption of media. We want to help those all over the world process and reconnect with themselves by creating free and accessible resources. Our “Pod Blog” was developed to provide tools, such as journal prompts or guided somatic techniques, that help our “pod” swim through calmer waters. Our segment, Whale Tales of Enlightenment, includes all our personal experiences, or “tales” of our own health journeys. We also refer to experts and various practitioners, as well as spiritual teachers to illuminate the best resources. There are many different segments to our Pod Blog, and a new series is launching soon for our organizations and individuals interested in promoting the environmental work they are doing. When we reach our donation goal, our series will follow where that donation money is put to use by our recipients as we learn about how they are making a positive impact on our local land and waters. See “Raising Awareness: Protecting Local Land & Waters” for more information!

Raising Awareness: Protecting local land & waters
With our first part of our project, the Pod is starting with a community raised donation goal to support various local environmental protection organization efforts around Cape Cod, MA, and our Islands. We aim to give back to those communities and support other projects working to make advancements to reduce harm to our planet in any form while we work on releasing our next steps. Our Pod knows that impactful and efficient change begins at the local level first!
Why donate to the Green Earth, Blue Waters Initiative? Why not donate directly to the organizations themselves? Well you certainly could. Our goal with our initiative is to form an official fund that allows for our team to offer more streamline management of your charitable giving. This is important to our Pod because our research team is able to make strategic grants to organizations based on up-to-date research of a problem and the most effective intervention. In other words, we follow where the donation will be used, and ensure that it is applied to the parts of the organization that have the highest impact. We know that managing multiple charitable donations can be cumbersome, so a fund allows us to consolidate your giving into one account to be used to make the greatest positive change.
In the next part of our project, when our online store launches, a percentage of profits earned from art sales and events will go to this fund initiative as well. As pollution to our waters destroy natural habitats, our high bacteria levels in the water will continue to worsen if no immediate action is taken here on Cape Cod. All over the planet, communities are feeling the harmful impacts of the changing climate. To take immediate action, we are working on building our Artist Collective so that we can begin to connect people that want to give back to our environments as soon as possible, in any way we can. This is one way we plan to come together, as a Pod, to begin taking further supportive action. When we work together, we connect those with the resources with those who know how to use them; this is the basis for growth and change.
Our Pod Blog serves as a platform to raise awareness of the multifaceted environmental issues Cape Cod is facing, and to boost the voices working at a local level. We serve as a networking system to bring together likeminded individuals and projects creating change in their own personal communities. Right now, we are hoping to scout out local communities and organizations that are already out in the field and need support and a platform for their voices to be heard amongst our community. Please see our “Contact Us” page if you are an organization or individual aligned with these values interested in collaborating!
