Artists of the Pod
Our Pod Collective is a collaboration between both local artists and our project organization, When the Whales Come Home. We feature artist pod members year round on our site and are hoping to eventually have pieces for sale to increase our ability to give back to our pod members, as well as our donations to local nature preservation efforts. We are looking for artists who break the boundaries of creation, using mediums in unique ways to cultivate personality and meaning within their works. Below is a more minor collaboration between members of the Artist Collective; an outline of the figures and shapes by Whale Dancer then done in ink with layers of watercolor pencil and Himalayan salt by Whale Shark. The salt is meant to give dimension to the scene and impact the texture of the work. Whale Dancer created this piece to comment on the emotion behind one’s words, and the connection between color, emotion, and sound. He writes: “I’m showing what it looks like when thought becomes alive”.
